The Astrology

  • Sun at 14 Scorpio, managed by Mars, is in a separating trine with Moon in Pisces.
  • Moon in Jupiter-managed Pisces is trine Mars-managed Mercury in Scorpio and will move into a resistant (square) relationship with Jupiter in its own sign Sagittarius.
  • Mars in Libra, managed by Venus, is in a helpful (sextile) relationship with Jupiter in Sagittarius.
  • Venus is with Jupiter in Sagittarius.

The Vibe is … Thoughts Turn to Things

I wasn’t sure what I’d write about when I looked at the chart for today. What’s going through my mind, though, is how thoughts turn to things. Mercury is associated with thoughts/thinking, and it’s retrograde in Scorpio. In addition to digging below the surface to find information, like detectives and researchers do, Scorpio is associated with secrets, psychic ability, strong emotions, magnetism, and strong determination. Scorpio is also associated with powerful strength and drive to achieve personal goals.

Everyone has Scorpio and its ruler Mars somewhere in their birth chart. When Scorpio is in the first of twelve places in a chart, the person is very often described as intense, magnetic, stubborn, maybe even ruthless. When Scorpio is in the second place in the chart, the person may have an intense drive to acquire wealth. A strong Scorpio in the tenth place can indicate someone whose excellent intuition plays an important role in their career. The individual may or may not use their intuitive power to manipulate or control others. These examples barely scratch the surface of Scorpio and the potential for either good or ill will that’s associated with it.

Presently, Scorpio’s ruling planet Mars is in Libra and doing its best to avoid conflict, especially in relationships. Mars is far more comfortable pushing through obstacles than seeking to balance opposing sides, but the effort is being made nonetheless.

The process of thoughts turning to things isn’t always immediately apparent. Things (manifestations) can seem to sneak up on you, but thoughts always precede manifestations. People have spoken about it in different ways, and one of these thoughts may resonate with you.

Michelangelo said, “The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss, but that it is too low and we reach it.”

Arlene Rankin said, “The way in which we think of ourselves has everything to do with how our world sees us and how we see ourselves successfully acknowledged by the world.”

Napoleon Hill said, “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

Helen Keller said, “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”

Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are right.”

Alice Walker said, “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.”

Jimmy Carter said, “You can do what you have to do, and sometimes you can do it ever better than you think you can.”

David Hockney said, “The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.”

As Above, So Below

I think I’m experiencing the Sun in Scorpio and Mercury retrograde as a need to dig below the surface in preparation for what’s ahead. And what’s ahead is that the Sun will join Jupiter in Sagittarius (November 22 – December 22) leading us toward optimism and a growth mindset. Mercury will follow the Sun into Sagittarius December 9, and we will have opportunities to create new beliefs to replace those that no longer serve us. Jupiter will join Venus and Saturn in Capricorn December 3. If you’re so inclined, you can try to understand what you’re thinking about now (what you are unearthing about yourself and your motives). Then, you can form new beliefs that serve your better so that you can begin to bring into your life what you truly want, rather than what you might get by default.

  • What are you in the process of creating through your thoughts?
  • Which of the thoughts listed above resonates with you? Why?
  • If you’re going down a negative thought path, is that what you want to manifest in your life?
  • Do you believe in what you want? Why, or why not?
  • Are you giving away your power? Why?
